Hallo alle zusammen!

Ich habe mir auf meinem neuen Betriebssystem (Vista) cygwin installiert.
Jetzt möchte ich startx ausführen, das funktioniert aber nur recht selten.
Unten steht der Text den ich auf der Konsole angezeigt bekomme - vielleicht
hat die Erfahrung ja auch schon mal jemand gemacht und kennt eine Lösung!?

Ich habe jetzt die Lösung gefunden: ich hatte mein System zu "rebasen". Die
Prozedur wird in
/usr/share/doc/Cygwin/rebase-2.4.3.README detailliert beschrieben.

Hi Michael!

Ich habe gerade dasselbe Problem.

Da ich doch eher ein Laie bin bei allem was mit Unix zu tun hat, wollte ich dich um Hilfe bitten.

Readme sagt, ich brauche zum "rebasen" folgende packages:

ash 20040127-3
binutils 20060709-1
cygwin 1.5.20-1
fileutils 4.1-3
gcc 3.4.4-1
grep 2.5.1a-2
gzip 1.3.5-2
sed 4.1.5-1

In welches Verzeichnis müssen die?

1. shutdown all Cygwin processes and services
2. start ash (do not use bash or rxvt)
3. execute /bin/rebaseall (in the ash window)

If you get any errors due to DLLs being in-use or read-only, then take the
appropriate action and rerun rebaseall.

Ich habe bereits wenn ich ash ausführen will eine Fehlermeldung:

Die Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil cygwin1.dll nicht gefunden wurde. Neuinstallation der Anwendung könnte das Problem beheben.



Wäre sehr sehr nett, wenn du mir weiterhelfen könntest, denn ich bin in dieser Angelegenheit eindeutig überfordert.

Ich habe seit etlichen Jahren auf etlichen
Windows-Kisten (Win2000, WinXP, seit einer
Woche Vista) verwendet. Das CygWin-X war
zwar immer zum Laufen zu bringen, aber
nie so richtig zufriedenstellend. In
jedem Fall hat eine Exceed-Installation
erst eine befriedigende Loesung gebracht.

Das gilt auch fuer die 1.7.1.

Wenn man wirklich mit CygWin arbeiten muss,
ist das Geld gut angelegt.

Dabei braucht es nicht die neueste Exceed
Version zu sein - mein jetziges Vista geht
mit v10 wunderbar, das neueste Exceed
ist aber schon v13.
